Network Engineer
Plugit Finland is a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions. We believe in combining personal service with strong technical expertise and smart technology choices.
Company You Will Be Joining
Plugit is a pioneer in electric mobility, specializing in charging solutions for electric vehicles and the services that support them. We build and operate a nationwide public charging network under the Plugit Lataus and Plugit PRO DC brands, and we provide companies with comprehensive private charging solutions within the same ecosystem. This makes us a unique end-to-end service provider in the market, seamlessly connecting private depot and property charging solutions with our public charging network. Our platform solutions enable customers to proactively plan their energy use and charging-related costs, a key capability for organizations transitioning towards zero-emission transportation.
We accelerate the green transition in a concrete way by building charging infrastructure that enables the replacement of combustion-engine fleets with battery electric vehicles. We help our customers reduce emissions, lower energy costs, and optimize their operations through data-driven insights. Every charging site we deliver and every system we commission brings companies closer to their climate targets and speeds up the electrification of transport overall.
Plugit is a growth company, and we are looking for new professionals to join our teams — people who share our ambition to build a cleaner, smarter future for electric mobility and who are ready to make it happen.
Network Engineer
The Network Engineer is a key member of Plugit’s Network Expansion team, which is responsible for developing Plugit’s public charging network that enables e‑mobility for vehicles ranging from passenger cars to long‑haul trucks across Finland and Sweden.
In this role, you will make the technical decisions that shape each charging station investment, balancing technical feasibility with commercial performance. Every location comes with trade‑offs, such as grid capacity, construction costs, expected utilization, pricing, landowner terms, and competitive landscape. A successful Network Engineer understands not only how to design a site, but how to design it so that it meets our growth and profitability targets.
Your core responsibility is to translate commercial goals into clear technical specifications that guide detailed engineering, planning, and ultimately the installation of new charging stations.
You will collaborate closely with your own team and with internal and external stakeholders. Your work will directly influence the development of a Nordic charging network for both passenger vehicles and heavy‑duty transport, putting you in a front‑row position in one of the fastest‑growing sectors of the clean energy transition.
As part of Plugit’s Network Expansion team, you’ll join a growth‑oriented company in a rapidly evolving industry. You will gain exposure to the latest technologies, from megawatt charging and battery energy storage systems to new and innovative charging concepts. This role also offers strong development potential for taking on more demanding responsibilities as Plugit’s network expands.
Your closest colleagues are located in Helsinki, though you’ll work on daily basis with colleagues based in the Tampere region as well as Sweden.
Key Responsibilities
You own charging station projects in the development stage until handover to detailed electrical & technical planning and execution
You own business case inputs concerning technical aspects like electricity grid or charging hardware
You conduct on-site technical surveys, including planning site layouts, electricity distribution, and assessing feasibility for detailed planning and development
You design and maintain charging station concepts for both passenger cars and heavy-duty vehicles
You actively support your business development colleagues in commercial discussions with landowners
You lead discussions with distribution system operators (DSOs) concerning new charging station deployments
You participate in network planning according to the company’s strategic goals
You coordinate work with stakeholders like landlords, municipalities, and charging hardware OEMs
What Plugit Expects from You
Minimum two years of experience in relevant positions in electrical engineering, infrastructure construction projects, or similar
Ability to understand both technical and commercial decision-making criteria and how they are formulated into a business case
Understanding electricity distribution, low voltage and medium voltage
Financial understanding (modelling operating costs and investment budgets)
Negotiation skills in interactions with landowners, DSOs and others
Experience in managing various stakeholders across a project’s lifecycle (contractors, public sector entities, real estate owners, DSOs)
Experience in using CAD software
Ability to manage multiple charging station projects in parallel while navigating uncertainty and taking a solution-oriented approach
Electrical engineering degree, either polytechnic or university
Excellent Finnish and English language skills, Swedish is an advantage
